THE WIRE'S GREEN AND RED MILE SERIES

Points are awarded for the first, second, third and fourth place finisher of each series. Top points winner is the winner of the series for that year. The competition is open to both colts and fillies in an effort to bring the best against the best. All races are conducted over eight furlongs, although the surface does vary from race to race. There are four dirt races and four turf races.

Here is the schedule for the series:

1. June Week Four: THE DR. FAGER RED MILE - 8F - DIRT

2. July Week Two: THE LURE GREEN MILE - 8F - TURF

3. July Week Four: The EASY GOER RED MILE - 8F - DIRT

4. August Week Three: THE FRANKEL GREEN MILE -8F - TURF

5. September Week One: THE CIGAR RED MILE - 8F - DIRT

6. September Week Three: THE ROYAL HEROINE GREEN MILE - 8F -TURF

7. November Week One: THE WIRE RED MILE - 8F - DIRT

8. December Week One: THE WIRE GREEN MILE - 8F - TURF

There are three winners with one champion of the turf, one of the dirt, and an overall winner. All are determined by points IN EACH RACE. THE POINTS WILL BE TOTALED AT THE END OF THE GREEN MILE.

1st place gets 10 points
2nd place gets 8 points
3rd place gets 6 points
4th place gets 4 points

Purse Prizes for Each Leg of the Series are:
